CONSTRUCT DIVERSITY

Titan Electric is honored to be a partner company with ConstructDiversity, a Seattle-based nonprofit founded in 2020 by Seattle-based companies with the intent to "promote racial and gender diversity within construction and related businesses in the Greater Puget Sound Region of Western Washington." In addition to being a partner company, Titan Electric President, Bruce Laing, is a founding member and Titan Electric principal Pat Burke is on the Board of Advisors. Our staff is actively involved in the mentorship program, giving students the opportunity to work alongside us and experience job sites and projects first-hand.

Construct Diversity's Mission Statement reads: "ConstructDiversity is a group of like-minded companies and individuals committed to bringing a higher level of racial and gender diversity to construction and related businesses. Our goal is to offer Black high school youth visibility to career paths that are available to them and to make it known that they are welcome, wanted and needed regardless of color or gender. We aim to build connection, access and opportunity to Black youth and provide equitable access to career opportunities. We believe inclusion is where diversity begins."

We're honored to be a part of this group that is pioneering increased inclusion within our industry in the Pacific Northwest.

RECENT PARTICIPATION

5TH ANNUAL A/E/C CHARITY KICKBALL TOURNAMENT

Host Company

The "Titan Toe Jammers" participated in the 5th Annual A/E/C Charity Kickball Tournament with the hope of defending our 2022 Championship Title! Unfortunately, we walked away with 3rd place, but had our heads held high, proud of our team.

This event benefitted Construction for Change, an amazing nonprofit organization that helps build infrastructure and opportunity in areas in need, locally and abroad.

The 2024 Tournament is already locked in our sights as we look to come back and reclaim our 2022 title!

BNB 2ND ANNUAL CHARITY SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

The "Titan Electric Thundercats" participated in the 2nd Annual BNB Charity Softball Tournament and it was a huge success! Alongside many amazing partners in the industry, the tournament raised $20,000 for the Washington Indian Gaming Association!

We didn't win as many games as we would've liked, so we're to get back on the field next year to compete again!

A shoutout to the other fierce competitors: ACCO Engineered Systems. Auburn Mechanical, Inc., CalPortland, Clearwater Casino, Coffman Engineers, COSCO Fire Protection, Flynn Group of Companies, Long Painting Company, McKinstry, Prime Electric, VECA Electric & Technologies, Washington Commercial Painters, Stoneway Concrete, UMC, Inc, and Washington Commercial Painters

7TH ANNUAL ANDERSEN GOLF TOURNAMENT

Titan Electric took the opportunity to sponsor a hole at the 7th Annual Andersen Charity Golf Tournament, which allowed us to support the great works of the event beneficiary, Rebuilding Together. Rebuilding Together is "a leading community revitalization partner focused on addressing substandard, unsafe, and unhealthy housing conditions in our region. As part of a national network of more than 120 Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country, we contribute to the repair of nearly 10,000 homes, with the help of close to 100,000 volunteers, annually."

Titan Electric has a stellar reputation at Industry Golf Events for REALLY showing up... and this was no exception! We rocked Hole 17 in Happy Gilmore fashion thanks to our team: Peg “Gold Jacket” Corbett, Nick “Happy Gilmore” Sundesten, Ryan “Otto” Fey, and Baylie “Virginia Bennet” LeCrone. Participants got to take a swing with a hockey stick at our 20' inflatable dart board and win prizes including Titan swag, cold hard cash, Subway gift cards, Top Golf gift cards, and more.

Participating in the event were Krista Hansen and Jon Osborne. Despite having extremely full plates at work, our team showed up with smiling faces, made some great connections throughout the tournament, and represented Titan Electric in the best way possible. We're thankful for a team that gave their time to support Andersen Construction & Rebuilding Together.

MADRONA ELEMENTARY CAREER FAIR

Host Company

Date

Estimator James Duncan II volunteered his time and talents to represent Titan Electric at the Madrona Elementary Career Fair. Madrona Elementary states that the objective of Career Day is to "expose students to a variety of careers in order to jumpstart their thinking about their future. By preparing early, students will be more likely to be college and career-ready after high school graduation or start their own business!" Our table was located in the "Science and Engineering" room—James hosted an interactive display for K-5th Graders and did an incredible job getting kids excited about the Construction Industry, electricity, and Titan Electric. James invited kids to play with conductive play-dough STEM kits that, when successfully connected, turned on lights and propellers! Kids were so intrigued that some of them even called James "a magician!" In addition to the STEM kits, we showcased a slideshow of Titan Electric project pictures, had a Titan Electric hard hat that kids got to try on, and each student walked away with a lightning bolt sticker on their Career Fair passports and their very own pair of DIY-assembly Lego glasses! We’re grateful to have been invited to the Madrona Elementary Career Fair to increase awareness and interest in our field.

2022 WSU CAREER FAIR & VCEA TECHNICAL FAIR

Titan Electric participated in the "Washington State University Career Fair & VCEA Technical Fair." The career fair is hosted by WSU's Academic Success and Career Center every Fall and Spring semester and aims to connect WSU candidates with employers for either full-time jobs or internships. Krista Hansen and Ryan Fey represented Titan Electric in the best way and enthusiastically met with numerous students who wanted to learn more about the company. We're eager to continue the conversation with several candidates and believe that by proactively pursuing new talent in this way, we will consistently add new perspectives and experiences to the company, which will help to grow and push Titan Electric upwards!

4TH ANNUAL A/E/C CHARITY KICKBALL TOURNAMENT

The "Titan Electric ToeJammers" made their debut appearance at the A/E/C Charity Kickball Tournament, hosted by CollinsWoerman benefitting Construction for Change (learn more about CfC here). This was a great opportunity to build relationships with General Contractors in our industry while supporting a great cause. And, not only did the ToeJammers participate, but they... dominated! Out of 8 teams, Titan Electric took 1st place!
